On Tuesday March 31st at 1902, the Hillsborough Fire District was dispatched to Millstone River Road for a reported chimney fire. Chief 37 arrived on scene, established command, and confirmed a chimney fire with fire and smoke showing. Crews from 36 and 37 fire entered the structure, extinguished the fire in the fire box, and checked for extension. Ladder 38 extended their aerial device to the roof allowing Assistant 36 and crews from 38 Fire to remove the chimney cap and perform a visual inspection of the inner chimney. Assistant 36 found a creosote buildup inside the chimney and used a water can to extinguish. No extension was found to the roof or the interior of the building. Homeowner was advised to have the chimney professionally cleaned. All units cleared the scene at 2005.
