On Monday April 13th at 1442 Stations 36, 48, and the Forestry Service were dispatched to Blackpoint Road for the report of a car into a utility pole with a transformer fire. Units arrived on scene to find that the driver had self-extricated. Command reported a car had struck and knocked down a utility pole and the downed transformer from the pole had ignited a brush fire. Forestry units concentrated on preventing the fire from spreading until JCP&L arrived on scene to secure the power. All 36 units cleared the scene at 1548. Units from 48 Fire, Forestry, and the Fire Marshal’s office remained on scene until the power was secured, the fire was extinguished, and the vehicle was removed. All remaining units cleared the scene at approximately 1730.
