On Sunday July 19th at 0835 Flagtown Fire and Rescue 79 were dispatched to the Sourland Mountain Preserve to locate and retrieve a hiker in distress with reported chest pain. Chief 36, Deputy 36, Brush 36 and Ranger 36 responded with Chief 36 taking command upon arrival. Rangers 36 and 79 entered the preserve to locate the hiker with Ranger 79 transporting BLS units and Ranger 36 transporting ALS units. The hiker was located and patient care was provided. Crews packaged the hiker and transported out of the woods to the waiting ambulance with Ranger 79. All units cleared the scene at 1000.
