On this 14th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on our country, Flagtown Fire would like to take a moment to remember and recognize all those who lost their life that day. The attacks took the lives of 2,753 people. 343 were our brother and sister firemen. 37 were Port Authority police officers and 23 were New York City police officers. We pay solemn tribute to each of those we lost. We express our thanks to all those who toiled in the rubble of the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and the field outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania in the days, weeks, and months that followed. We also express our unending admiration for and gratitude to all of the brave men and women of our military who were called to action to defend our great nation and our way of life in the wake of these attacks. We will not forget.
