We wanted to express our gratitude to all of Flagtown Fire for your professional performance at the VA Depot fire.  This thank you goes out not only to our firemen but also to our Associate members, and to the friends and family of our members who all threw in their time, energy, and support during those 3 days of operations.

To our non-firefighting members, thank you for everything.  You spent many hours at the station making sure our firefighters had everything they needed when they returned from their shifts.  You planned and organized everything that was needed to keep us fed and hydrated over those 3 long days.  And you braved the cold to join us on scene (at a safe distance of course) to bring us food and lend us your support.  Your efforts and your support kept us going and helped us be successful.

To our firefighters, job well done.  Many of you were involved in fighting the fire starting from Thursday afternoon through the apparatus and equipment clean up late Saturday afternoon, and into late Sunday night with the multiple rekindle calls.  You all acted professionally, and skillfully.  The benefit of the countless hours you all dedicate to training was visible and on display as you worked.  The firefighting operations were complex.  Everyone adapted to changing conditions and overcame the many challenges that presented themselves.  You make us look good and we are proud to represent you.

We would also like to thank the other departments in our district, Stations 37, 38, and 48.  As always we all worked seamlessly together to extinguish the fire.  Your members are professional, skilled, and dedicated.  We truly are one fire district!

A special thanks goes out to the 30 or so mutual aid companies who answered our call for help and responded into Hillsborough to help us protect our town and its residents.  You sent us manpower and almost 200 pieces of apparatus to help us fight this enormous blaze.  Our efforts would not have been successful without you.

Lastly a heartfelt thank you to the residents and businesses in Hillsborough.  Many businesses donated food and supplies.  Many residents have also made donations and expressed their concern for us.  Some have stopped by the station to check on us.  Others have flagged us down at stop lights just to say thank you.  Thank you for your concern and support.  We are proud to serve you and this town.

Thank you everone!
