On Wednesday May 18th at 1700 members took Engine 36 out again to conduct rookie training. Rookies were able to reinforce the previous day’s lesson for tying a hydrant this time with the engine laying in. The day’s training also included deploying and operating the Blitzfire, operating the deck gun, and exterior hose operations with a 2 ½ hand line. The exterior hose ops covered the same topics as yesterday in addition to stressing communication between members of the hose team as well as advancing and backing out the hose as a group. Operation of the line using the Chicago loop was also taught. As with yesterday, members in the driver training program were given pump time.
