The men and women of the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, also known as Flagtown Fire / Rescue, are always looking for new members!!!!

The dedicated volunteers of Flagtown Fire “DO IT ALL!!!” as we like to say. We are highly trained in firefighting, water and ice rescue, vehicle extraction, and many other areas. Our members log well over 25 hours a month in training alone, and that’s not counting the 400 plus fire calls we answer every year.

If you have ever thought, “I’d like to be a firefighter”, then the time is NOW to join our department. You can stop by the station any Thursday night after 7pm to speak to one of the Fire Officers about joining.

Or you can email Deputy Chief Everett Heider at and he can answer any and all questions that you may have. We look forward to you joining our ranks.
